Child Labor Assignment

Today we are going to look into child labor during the Industrial Revolution. The stories all take place in England and depict the ugly seen of life in the factories.

You will go to this website to look at the issues of the Industrial Revolution. Here is your
assignment:


*Look for the section titled "Life in the Factory".

There are 10 links there with short discriptions on how work-life was for the people of England.
Write down 2-3 interesting facts that you learned from each link.


*Next, scroll down to the section titled "Factory Workers". Select 3 of the workers and briefly (one paragraph) describe their testimony to Parliament. It should summarize their trails and tribulations that they endured while working in the factories.

Homework Assignment for Tomorrow

Students in all classes have 7.1 WS due for tomorrow. We are starting a new chapter over the French Revolution.

Test on Tuesday

We will have a short test over Chapter 6 next Tuesday. Chapter 6 deals with the Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment, and how the Enlightenment inspired the American Revolution.

We will have our Chapter 5 test on Friday. Our key theme we have been covering in this section is absolute monarchies and divine right.

We have looked over the absolute monarchies of Spain, France, Russia, and England. We will have a quick review on Thursday to answer and remaining questions that exist.

Test Tomorrow

We have our Chapter 4 Test tomorrow for all classes. Students have a study guide, the essay questions, and everything they need to prepare for the test.

Chapter Test Next Tuesday

Students started in on Chapter 4 this week which continues to discuss European exploration, the Aztec & Incan Empires, colonies, and the Columbian Exchange.

You will be making a PowerPoint over the daily life of the Aztecs. The website has plenty of information that will help you get a better feel for the Aztec way of life. Your PowerPoint needs to be at least 10 slides with at least 8 pictures.

CSA Test Today

We are having our CSA #1 test today in class. Student have received study guides and were assigned to do an outline over their question.

Overall, students are working very hard and are doing a great job of participating in class. There is no homework assignment for students today. We started talking about exploration and discovery and how it pertains to the Renaissance way of life.

Chapter 1 Test

Our Chapter 1 Test, the first chapter test of the year, will be this coming Friday before Labor Day weekend. Students will receive a study guide to look over a couple of days before the test.

Assignment for Thursday

Today we are going to look at many different facets of the Middle Ages. There will be several topics that deal with how life was during this time.

Today's Assignment:

For the first part of this go to this website. You will be looking at different aspects of life during the Middle Ages. Using the different icons on the right side of the website, (such as religion, homes, clothing, etc.) I would like you to write down 3 facts that stood out to you for each topic (7 total). You can use Microsoft Word to complete this assignment.

World Civ Assignment

For 6th & 7th hours (World Civ) students need to make sure they have their 1.1 worksheet done for class tomorrow.

For 2nd-4th hours (Honors World Civ) students need to finish their 1.2 reading and guided questions.

We'll be in the computer lab tomorrow looking at the Dark Ages and Renaissance life.
